Founder
In 1992 I was born and raised in the Brownsville, Brooklyn neighborhood in New York City. For two and a half decades the angst of surviving the conditions there with your mind intact was indescribable. I focused on athletics and fine arts to dodge the madness as if my life depended on it. Mastering AND 1 crossovers to build a reputation and how to paint well enough to earn a spot in a prestigious school. As I worked, I grew to obsess over the scent of new sneakers, incense sticks, and sometimes the plastic in Bargain Hunter’s aisles. Scents have always captivated my imagination: gasoline, rain, earth, the barbershop.
By 2020, years of self-education and a personal desire to own a business led to the emergence of the brand; my name slightly clipped down for intrigue. My fragrance will always abide by three principles of commitment to the craft: raw, unique, and accessible. With that written on a notepad, I put my talents to work perfecting a new medium. Each bottle is hand-blended late at night overlooking Midtown East and shipped from my studio the next business day.
Being a Dominican-American who hates the winter, I am naturally attracted to warm notes. Vanilla, woods, and musks are the golden trio for me and frequently tend to make their way into what I do.
My fragrances are as intricate as I know myself to be.
With reverence,
Ariel Zorrilla
